Investigators Say San Antonio Blaze Human Caused

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — CDF investigators say the fire that burned ten acres of timber near Arnold was human caused, although they´re still investigating the specifics.

Chief Richard Imlach says the blaze at the confluence of O´Niel and San Antonio Creeks was contained at 6:00 last evening.

Two engines and two hand crews remain on location conducting mop-up operations.

Imlach says there were two witnesses in the area when the blaze began late Sunday night. He says investigators have spoken to one of those witnesses and are still looking for the other one.

Imlach says the department has a description of a vehicle that was seen in the area at the time, and are looking around the local area.

Five engines initially responded to the blaze along with two hand crews and one bulldozer.
