Valley Springs Parents Angry They Weren’t Notified About Death List
Valley Springs, CA — Parents of elementary school students whose names appeared on a sixth-grader´s “death threat list” say they´re angry they weren´t notified until two weeks after the student was disciplined.
The list was discovered September 7th, but it wasn´t until a week ago that parents at Valley Springs Elementary School heard about it.
Calaveras County authorities say they didn´t handle the situation properly at first and are now contacting parents.
Calaveras Unified Superintendent Jim Frost would only say that the boy was disciplined. He says because of privacy laws, district officials can´t legally warn parents that their child´s name is on a death-threat list.
