Election Day Arrives In California
Sonora, CA — Today is election day in California.
Voters will be going to the polls to decide eight statewide ballot propositions. Issues to go before the public will include parental notification before minors undergo abortions, lengthening teacher tenures, and restrictions on how public employee union dues are spent.
Also before the voters will be a proposition on limiting state spending and school funds. One ballot measure will amend the process of drawing the state´s voting district lines. Two will deal with prescription drug discounts.
On the local level, voters will decide whether to establish a resource conservation district, and approve bonds to improve school facilities in Groveland. The polls will be open until 8:00 tonight.
