Wine Contributes $45 Billion To Economy

Employment in the California wine business has increased during the past four years, according to a report issued Tuesday. The report, commissioned by winery and grape grower groups, said winemaking and related businesses employ more than 200,000 Californians. It estimates the wine sector´s total economic impact at more than $45 billion, even as farmers and wineries struggle with import competition, low grape prices and other challenges.
