New Police Chief Starts Monday

Monday, Sonora will officially have a new Police Chief.
During the opening moments of the City council meeting, the city´s new “top cop” Mace McIntosh will be sworn in.
Retiring police chief Duane Ellis and police Lieutenant Patrick Tonegato will be honored during a special presentation for their years of service to the city.
During Monday´s session, the council will also consider adopting a resolution that calls for a municipal election this November to raise the city´s transient Occupancy Tax or T-O-T from 8 percent to 9 percent.
