More Money Coming For Rural Housing

“Sweat equity” and a federal housing program have helped nearly 350 rural California families buy homes during the past year, according to the US Agriculture Department. Agriculture Secretary Ann Veneman visited Sacramento yesterday to promote the housing program. Participating rural families help build their own homes. Veneman announced that California would receive another $12.6 million dollars in housing and economic-development loans.
