Outdoor Film Series at College Amphitheater
Twinkling stars, towering pines, hot-buttered popcorn, fabulous films – all will be there for you this summer on Friday nights at 8:15 p.m. at the outdoor amphitheater in Columbia College´s Carkeet Park.
Come and enjoy classics like Casablanca and High Noon, or family favorites like E.T. and Wizard of Oz. Come and expand your understanding of other cultures through Monsoon Wedding, Osama, and Color of Paradise. And come for intellectual stimulation by two startling documentaries, The Trials of Henry Kissinger and Hearts and Minds.
The film series, co-sponsored by Columbia College and T.C.C.P. (Tuolumne County Citizens for Peace), runs weekly on Friday evenings from June 11 to July 30, except for one Saturday show on June 26.
An admission price of $7 for the entire series – good for one movie or all nine will be charged. Ticket prices have been held to a minimum to encourage optional contributions to a selected charity during each performance. Two of the charities will be international, like SEVA (helping to combat blindness in underdeveloped countries) and seven will be local, like WATCH and Mountain Women´s Resource Center.
Participants can either sign up before each movie at Carkeet Park, or call Columbia College Community Education at 588-5144 for information and/or advance tickets. Information is also available online at http://columbia.yosemite.cc.ca.us/Summer2004.htm.
