Dry, Dry On The Range

The warm, dry spring has taken a toll on California pastures and rangelands. One quarter of the state´s pastures stand in “poor” or “very poor” condition, according to a government report. None of the state´s rangelands remains in the “excellent” category. A year ago, most California pastures still rated in good or excellent condition. Deteriorating range conditions will force livestock owners to find other food for their animals.
