Sponsored by:

Actor Robert Conrad will have to spend six months under house arrest for his role in a head-on crash that left the driver of another car seriously injured.

In handing down the sentence, a Calaveras County judge also ordered the actor to complete alcohol counseling and placed him on five years´ probation.

Conrad was charged with driving under the influence and causing bodily injury to another person after a crash on Highway Four in Calaveras County in March of 2003.

He pleaded no contest last month to the charges.

Authorities say Conrad´s blood-alcohol content at the time of the crash was nearly three times the limit that legally defines drunken driving in California.

The driver of the other car suffered serious leg injuries and filed a civil lawsuit that was settled earlier this year.

Conrad also suffered major injuries in the wreck.

The 69-year-old actor is best known for his television roles that included the hit series “The Wild Wild West.
