Mobile Home Park Fees Could Increase
Tuolumne County Supervisors have set some changes into effect that may mean higher rents for residents who live in mobile home parks. But the increase should also mean better maintenance at the parks as well.
Tuesday the supervisors made several revisions to the county´s mobile home rent control ordinance. The changes will allow park owners to pass on the costs of capitol improvement projects. Supporters say that will encourage owners to keep their parks in good shape.
The rent increase cannot exceed 10 percent of the average monthly rent of park residents, unless a majority of the tenants vote for a higher rate. There was little debate of the ordinance at Tuesday Supervisor session.
