DNA Tests Help Nab Cattle Rustler

DNA tests by a California lab helped Montana deputies catch and convict a cattle rustler. A rancher says four of his cows were shot, killed and butchered. Later, deputies captured a suspect and recovered meat, boots and a knife. The Montana authorities sent the evidence to the Veterinary Genetics Laboratory at the University of California, Davis. The lab matched DNA from the evidence with DNA from the dead cows, and the rustler pleaded guilty.
