Security Kicked-Up In California

Sponsored by:

We´re at Code Orange: The second highest level of terror alert.

Governor Davis is doubling security at major buildings, bridges and ports in preparation for possible terrorist reprisals if the country declares war on Iraq. The action came as President Bush declared that Saddam Hussein would face military force if he does not leave Iraq within 48 hours.

Davis ordered the California Highway Patrol to begin working 12-hour shifts and to use air patrols around the clock to defend possible targets. Security is being increased at airports, seaports, electrical grids and the California Aqueduct.
