Murder Trial To Be Determined

A Calaveras County Superior Court judge will determine next month if a Stockton man accused of murdering his girlfriend is mentally competent to stand trial. Jay Edward Cates is accused of beating Keri Rasberry to death and leaving her body near Dorrington. Cates denies the charges.
