Huge Fire, Explosions Rock Sacramento Firm

A multiple-alarm fire broken out at a specialty gas distribution facility in Sacramento, sending dark smoke and projectiles hundreds of feet into the air.
Sacramento Fire Department spokesman Dave Whitt said multiple fire crews responded to the fire started about 4:30 p.m. near Interstate 80 during rush hour. The company – Airgas – provides industrial, medical, and specialty gases and welding supplies. Fire officials say acetylene and natural gas are stored on the site.
