Crash Injures Calaveras County Driver

A single-car crash on Highway 26 in the West Point area just before 1 p.m. this afternoon injured an elderly driver. The man apparently lost control of his car and crashed into a tree near Sneed Road. The car also took out a fire hydrant and some mailboxes in the process. The man was taken by air ambulance to a Modesto hospital for treatment of a head injury.
