Feds Fund Campaign Against Meth
California´s multi-front campaign against methamphetamine got a boost in a huge spending bill approved Monday.
That´s welcome news for law enforcement officials in the Central Valley, which leads the nation in illegal meth production. The money approved by the House would help bust dealers and clean up the toxic slop from illegal labs in rural areas.
Stanislaus County Sheriff´s Department. spokesman Kelly Huston says this is going to help local law enforcement focus on the biggest cases and will essentially go to supplement what the department lost from the state.
Funding will also be used to support prosecuting meth producers for illegal toxic dumping.
