Charter School Closed By Lack Of State Funding

A Stockton charter school has closed after state education officials refused to give them operating money. One Step UP closed its doors yesterday after apparently failing to convince state Education Department officials they were running an adequate operation. The department suspended funding in February after failing to get information on allegations of problems at the school.
