There´s NO sign of recession in campaign spending for the California candidates for governor.
Although the general election is more than eight months away, the major candidates for governor have used up 33 million dollars in campaign funds so far.
Nearly half of it has been expended for Governor Gray Davis, although he faces only token opposition in the March fifth Democratic primary.
Davis has spent 15 million dollars so far on his re-election bid, and his campaign still has more than 28 million in hand for the long run to November.
