First Lotto Winner Steps Forward
A Half Moon Bay retailer says he helped a man validate one of three winning tickets in Saturday´s record lottery jackpot.
Albertson´s store director Joey Blackwell says the man walked into the store at 9:30 this morning and calmly identified himself as a winner in Saturday´s 193 million dollar drawing.
Blackwell says he ran the man´s ticket through a special scanner
that showed it had all six of the winning numbers. When it was processed, the ticket read, “Prize exceeds cash limit.”
A Lottery spokeswoman says the Presidents Day holiday means the winners will have to wait until tomorrow to redeem their tickets.
The other winning tickets were purchased at Seven-Eleven stores in the Southern California cities of Orange and Montebello.
