Search For Van Dam Continues
Nearly 150 volunteers are expected to turn out today to help search for a seven-year-old San Diego area girl missing for a week.
Friends and loved ones related to Danielle van Dam´s family met last at the girl´s school, Creekside Elementary, to help coordinate efforts.
A helicopter this week was used to search the Southern California desert for her, but she wasn´t found and there have been no arrests in connection with her disappearance.
Danielle vanished sometime after her dad put her to bed last Friday night.
Police continue to focus on the neighbor of the missing girl, seizing his motor home and other belongings, but haven´t arrested him.
Authorities searched the desert because 49-year-old David Westerfield says he drove his motor home there the same day Danielle was reported missing.
