SLA Member’s Hearing Postponed
Friday´s bail hearing for former Symbionese Liberation Army member Michael Bortin has been postponed. Prosecutors had been expected to ask a judge to set a one million dollar bail for Bortin as was done last week for his co-defendants, Bill Harris and Emily Montague, formerly Emily Harris. James Bustamonte, one of Bortin´s attorneys, said Friday´s hearing has been postponed in order to give his supporters more time to prepare testimonials for the Oregon flooring contractor. Bortin, Harris, Montague and Sara Jane Olson are accused in the slaying of a Carmichael woman during a 1975 armed robbery at Crocker National Bank in Carmichael. The
robbery allegedly was committed to raise money for the SLA.
