The Contractors State License Board warns that fraudulent home repair contractors are making their annual trip through California. Known as Travelers, these phony carpenters mostly prey on elderly homeowners with claims of low priced home improvement projects that always result in substandard workmanship. Demanding to see proper credentials and making background checks are the best defense against costly, and fraudulent home repair scams.
