Girl Safe, Abductor Sought

An eight-year-old abducted while playing with friends outside her house in West Sacramento last night, was found safe about 90 minutes later. The eight-year-old was snatched by a man who hauled her kicking and screaming into his car. A resident of Knights Landing, about 30 miles away, later found her kneeling on a sidewalk. Authorities said last night they did not know if the child had been assaulted but say she appears to be unharmed. Authorities are looking for the abductor, described as about 5-foot-8 and 220 pounds, wearing a white shirt and dark pants. When the girl was abducted he was driving a light silver Honda Accord.
