TGH Back To Full Emergency Service

Tuolumne General Hospital has reinstated general surgical services on a 24-hour basis. The Emergency Room had been referring surgical cases to Sonora Community Hospital because of a shortage of on-call surgeons. Administrator Barry Woerman says he’s hoping it won´t be necessary again. He says surgical coverage in a voluntary service provided by physicians, and there are several issues surrounding it statewide. Woerman says he hopes the situation will remain stable. Surgical consultations or follow-up appointments for patients in the TGH Primary Care Clinic are now being re-scheduled.
