Sups Hear Jamestown Mine Closure Plan

When the Tuolumne County Supervisors meet Tuesday, they will review a closure plan for the former Jamestown Mine tailings management facility. The update report is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in the supervisor´s chambers.

According to county administrator C. Brent Wallace, closure of the Jamestown tailings facility could possibly be put into motion by summer of 2003.

The board will continue their consideration to allow the Groveland Hotel exception of certain zoning laws regarding the proposed addition of distilled beverage service at the historic Groveland landmark bar and restaurant.

Supervisors meet at 9 a.m. at the county Administration Center on South Green Street in Sonora.
