Arrests Made Following Deputy Shooting

Shasta County authorities say they´ve captured two Shasta Lake suspects who allegedly shot a pair of Shasta County Sheriff´s deputies early Friday during an escape and later confrontation.
Redding Police officials say injuries to the deputies are not life threatening. They say one of the suspects was also shot during a 6 a.m. shootout and is in a Redding hospital in unknown condition.
That´s 44-year-old John Edward Knowles. A second suspect, 26-year-old Jeremy Ross Ivey, is also in custody following his capture shortly after 10 a.m. Sheriff´s officials say both suspects were arrested at 2 a.m. on drug charges and outstanding warrants. They say the two, who were armed when arrested, escaped in the patrol car after shooting a deputy.
