Scam Surfaces in Mother Lode

Another apparent scam to watch out for…a Sonora man reports getting a phone call from Canada. The
caller claims to be with an accounting firm, and tried to convince the man to send just over a thousand dollars to cover what he called the”duty” on a cash prize.
Tuolumne County Deputies are investigating.
