House Republicans Reject Federal Price Caps On Electricity

House Republicans voted the party line to reject federal price caps on electricity prices. In the 34 to 27
vote, a proposal by California Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi was voted down. Pelosi, a Democrat from San Francisco, proposed that the Federal Energy
Regulatory Commission tightly limit electricity rates until March 2003.
