National Guard To Secure Airports

Governor Davis today signed an order allowing up to one-thousand California National Guardsmen to
begin training for airport security duty. President Bush and the FAA have identified 31 airports in California where they would like troops deployed. Davis made
his announcement today to about 50 National Guard members at the Los Alamitos Armed Forces Reserve
Center.
