An hourslong stand-off in Sacramento has ended peacefully.
A 40 year old Sacramento man surrendered to police shortly before noon today after holding his mother and sister hostage and barricading himself in his apartment for 10 hours.
Authorities say Raymond “Cookie´´ Ramirez led police on a chase early this morning after failing to stop for speeding. Police trailed him to his apartment, where he held his 71 year old mother, his sister and another woman hostage. There were no injuries.
Nine families were evacuated from the apartment complex, and businesses along Stockton Boulevard were closed. The stand off also closed part of the south Sacramento street.
