American Taliban Supporter Identified As Marin County Resident

A man claiming to be an American has been captured fighting with the Taliban in Afghanistan — and he apparently has ties to the San Francisco Bay area. The grimy, light-skinned man was one of more than 80 Taliban fighters who emerged from a flooded basement days after their prison rebellion was quelled at at Afghan fort. A divorced Marin County couple say the man captured is their 20-year-old son, John Phillip Walker Lindh.
