Debate Continues On Old Grade
Sponsored by:
Controversy continues in Groveland over a recommendation from the Local Transportation Committee to close the downhill lane of Old Priest Grade.
Tuolumne County Supervisor Mark Thornton represents that area. He agrees with critics who say the committee vote was taken illegally. However, he doubts there is an inherent bias against South county residents on the board, as claimed by some at last night´s session. The county has safety concerns about the steep road, but Groveland residents have preferred it for years to the longer New Priest Grade. The panel meets again next month.
