Segarini Discusses Retirement From TC Chamber
Sonora, CA — The President and CEO of the Tuolumne County Chamber of Commerce will retire at the end of the year.
George Segarini was Thursday’s KVML “Newsmaker of the Day”.
Segarini will leave the post effective December 31st.
“I’ve been contemplating this move for over a year, and I’m tired. I no longer have the energy needed to run the organization, and I believe that new leadership will be beneficial. I have enjoyed my work with the Chamber and have always said that I was having fun while leading the Chamber over the past 17 years,” said Segarini. “At this time the fun isn’t what it used to be, which means it is time for me to move on.”
Segarini added that he will miss working with his staff and such a diversified group of business people in the community. He will stay busy by continuing to help his son run their Italian restaurant in downtown Sonora.
The Board of Directors has put together a hiring committee to find Segarini’s replacement. The person selected will likely be brought in to work with Segarini leading up to his December 31st retirement.
The “Newsmaker of the Day” is heard every weekday morning on AM 1450 KVML at 6:45, 7:45 and 8:45am.
