Interfaith hits the Jackpot!
Sonora, CA — Interfaith hit the Jackpot today as more than $35,000 cash was raised in the 4th annual Clarke Broadcasting Interfaith Cash and Coat Drive! Final totals will come next week!
The event was highlighted by a $15,000 contribution by Chicken Ranch Casino in Jamestown! Tribal Chairman, Lloyd Mathiesen personally delivered the check to Interfaith Director Cathy Peacock during the broadcasts on KVML-KZSQ-KKBN.
Mathiesen stated ” Interfaith Social Services was just recognized by the T.C. Chamber of Commerce as the outstanding non-profit organization in our community. We wanted to support their efforts to feed and clothe our less fortunate friends and neighbors. The Me-Wuk tribe is always sensitive to the needs of our community and we think there is no better cause than Interfaith”.
Dozens of local businesses and residents have donated cash and coats over the past two days. According to Peacock, each dollar donated will be leveraged to buy seven dollars of food and clothing. Interfaith is open all year and annually serves more than 36,000 people through food, clothing and other services.
Today’s cash donations of more than $35,000 set a new record for the two day radio-thon. In four years, more than $105,000 dollars has been donated along with more than 5,500 coats.
The Clarke Broadcasting Interfaith Cash and Coat Drive concludes today. However, donations are accepted all year Monday through Friday 10am-1pm at the Interfaith location at 18500 Striker Court off Tuolumne Road in Sonora.
