Tuolumne County Will Vote On Budget

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The Tuolumne County Supervisors will put the final touches on the 2014-15 budget at Tuesday’s meeting.

The county’s General Fund budget is proposed to be $57.7 million, which is down about $750K from last year. A reason for the decline is that during fiscal year 2013-14 the county had put approximately $1 million in one-time funding towards the future jail project.

The County’s overall $163 million budget is actually up by about $17 million from last year, as it includes the pot of state funding that will be used to build the $16.8 million Juvenile Detention Facility.

On Tuesday, the Board will also meet in closed session to talk about the Jamestown Mine Property, and decide whether to send a letter to Congressman Tom McClintock about a Biomass Crop Assistance program tied into to the Farm Bill. Tuesday’s meeting starts at 9am.
