Dog Rock Fire 25% Contained
Yosemite, CA — Firefighters have successfully built a control line around the north end of the Dog Rock Fire near Foresta.
The fire is now 279 acres and 25% contained. The fire continues to slowly burn downhill, towards Old El Portal Road. Highway 140 remains closed at the park entrance, but all other roads are open in the park.
The power remains out in Yosemite Valley, and PG&E is assessing the damage to power lines, and it’s not immediately clear when power will be restored. The National Transportation Safety Board also remains on scene today to continue its investigation into the tanker crash that took the life of pilot Craig Hunt.
