Berryhill In Leadership Position
Sacramento, CA — Senate Republican leader Bob Huff has announced his leadership team, and a Mother Lode Senator will be in a key role.
District 8 Senator Tom Berryhill will serve as the Caucus Chair for the 2015-16 legislative session. He will convene caucus meetings, and provide advice to Huff. Senator Ted Gaines, who represented Calaveras County prior to redistricting, has been named the Caucus Whip.
Other Republican lawmakers in key positions include Senator Jean Fuller, who will remain the Vice Chair of the Senate Rules Committee, and Senator Jim Nielsen, who will remain the Vice Chair of the Senate Budget Committee. Senator Pat Bates will be the Assistant Caucus Whip.
Senator Huff says, “Senators Berryhill, Fuller, Nielsen, Gaines and Bates will provide effective leadership for our caucus and I look forward to working with them. They will play key roles to help our members enact our legislative priorities; making college more affordable for middle class families, strengthening our economy, and getting more Californians back to work.”
