Mother Lode Law Officers Recognized For DUI Arrests

Several law enforcement officers recently earned awards for their efforts in catching DUI offenders across the Mother Lode.

According to City of Angels Camp public safety officials, on March 5, Officers Chris Adams and Darien Wilson were among the attendees at an awards ceremony held in Stockton by California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), recognizing regional DUI crackdown efforts. To be recognized, officers must have made at least ten DUI driver arrests in the calendar year. Adams made 33 DUI arrests in 2014; Wilson made 29; Officer Kyle Hansen, who did not attend the luncheon, but also received an award, made 12. The department also received a plaque acknowledging its efforts.

According to City of Sonora Chief Mark Stinson, officers Jonathan Ma, Ryan Webb, Ibrahim Kahlil, and Chris Rogers are also among this year’s honorees. In 2014, Ma made 22 DUI arrests; Webb made 14; Kahil and Rogers each made ten.

Also honored by OTS and MADD are California Highway Patrol officers Rod McNally and Jon Lion from CHP-San Andreas Unit; and officers Josh Mahaney, Steve Machado, Steve Warzee, Olga Boenisch, Faustino Pulido, Mike McDaniel, Mike Huddleston, Elliott Lopez, Scott Taylor, Alan Dahl, Steve Griefer, and Mat Overby from CHP-Jamestown Unit.
