It was noted that the groundbreaking ceremony will occur at noon on June 2nd, the project should be completed by August of 2016, and operational by November of 2016. In 2009 Tuolumne County received a $16-million state grant to build the facility at the law and justice center site off Old Wards Ferry Road. It will house juveniles from Tuolumne, Calaveras and Amador Counties.

A total of 10 companies submitted bids for the work. It was noted at the Supervisors meeting that F&H will utilize five sub-contractors and suppliers based in Tuolumne County, which equates to 9.3% of its overall bid.
