Recharging Sonora’s Electrical Service

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — PG&E is currently upgrading equipment to improve reliability for Sonora customers.

The project work began this week at several locations in the city. “We are confident that the electric upgrades will result in fewer power outages, and allow for faster restoration when an outage does occur,” said Rich Garcia, manager of PG&E’s Yosemite Division. He added,  “We understand that any time we are working to complete projects, it affects our customers and we appreciate their understanding.”

The work includes upgrading more than 2,600 feet of power lines, as well as replacing power poles, cross arms and other related equipment. The work could cause some travel delays or power interruptions. Company officials say, however, that customers will be notified in advance, and work crews will be posting “No Parking” signs in affected areas to alert motorists. Weather permitting, PG&E states that the project is expected to be completed by the end of June.
