Forest Meeting On OHV Plan
Hathaway Pines, CA — The Stanislaus National Forest will hold a meeting later this week on proposed changes related to Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) use.
The Forest Service reports that the meeting will specifically look at a plan to officially incorporate a current user-made track, located near White Pines in the Lower Interface parking area, into the Forest Trail system. The track would be maintained in cooperation with local OHV groups and volunteers. The Forest Service believes the move will improve resource protection and provide a safe environment for beginning riders to practice their OHV skills.
The public meeting will begin at 9am, this coming Saturday, at the Calaveras Ranger District Office at 5519 Highway 4 in Hathaway Pines. The meeting will be hosted by recreation and OHV staff on the Calaveras Ranger District.
Off-Highway vehicles come in all shapes and sizes and are designed to drive off paved surfaces, and they are mostly used for recreational use.
