Help Raise Money For Interfaith
Sonora, CA – As part of our wish for everyone in the Mother Lode to have a warm holiday season, Clarke Broadcasting is kicking off its Cash and Coat Drive with Interfaith Social Services this week. One hundred percent of all donations go to Interfaith Social Services to help Tuolumne County families in need.
Participate in and listen to Star 92.7 and 93.5 KKBN Friday morning as local businesses and residents step up and help this great cause. The live on-air cash drive will be hosted by both Star 92.7 and 93.5 KKBN from 6AM till Noon. Call 533-1450 and your information will be relayed to all on-air staff. Go on-air to challenge friends, neighbors and other businesses to do the best they can to make the holidays bright, or donate anonymously by phone or even online with our red donate button here through Paypal.
Interfaith provides not just emergency food, jackets, clothes, blankets, and shoes; if there is a need for a shower or haircut before a job interview, they help with that. They listen with open hearts and are experts at helping Tuolumne County residents get what they need when they need it most. As a faith-based community social service agency, Interfaith relies on donations and volunteers; many who return year after year to help others as much as they can.
As reported in November here, the Mother Lode is not rebounding as fast as the rest of the state; Tuolumne County’s unemployment rate has increased and is slightly higher than that of Calaveras County. In addition, the weather has been colder recently, as detailed here, and El Niño may bring more wet weather; so warm, weatherproof jackets are necessary. According to Interfaith Director Cathy Peacock, each dollar donated will be leveraged to buy seven dollars of food and clothing. Interfaith is open all year and annually serves more than 36,000 people.
