Awards Abound At SRMC
Sonora, CA — Sonora Regional Medical Center (SRMC) is a top performer for a fifth year in a row, according to the Joint Commission and the Collaborative Alliance for Nursing Outcomes (CALNOC), a leading national accreditor of health care organizations.
The organization chose the medical center as one of just over a thousand award recipients out of the 3,300 eligible hospitals across the country to receive the 2014 Top Performer on Key Quality Measures award. Hospital officials say the recognition was for following measure sets dealing with heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical care, and stroke.
“These awards reinforce the fact that our entire staff is dedicated to providing the safest, most effective health care for our community,” states SRMC President and CEO Andrew Jahn. He adds, “I am honored and privileged to be a part of this incredible team that has worked diligently to earn the trust of our patients and accolades from these respected organizations.”
SRMC provided a list (see below) regarding the additional recognitions it received for the 2014 CALNOC Performance Excellence Award for preventing the following hospital-acquired conditions:
- Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus (MRSA) – Total Facility
- Central-Line Associated Bloodstream Infection (CLABSI) – Total Facility
- Pressure Ulcers Stage II or greater
- Central-Line Associated Bloodstream Infection (CLABSI) – Critical Care
