Sheriff Mele Tapped For A Second Round

Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County Sheriff Jim Mele gets Governor Jerry Brown’s nod for a second term on an advisory board.

Sheriff Mele has been reappointed to the State 9-1-1 Advisory Board, where he has served since 2013. He is one of 11 board members. All are recommended by groups such as the California State Sheriff’s Association, Fire Chiefs Association, and Police Chiefs Association. The state board looks at issues related to the 9-1-1 emergency telephone system, and helps with the overall coordination of law enforcement agencies.  This position does not require approval by the California State Senate for confirmation. Mele receives no compensation for serving.
