Ridding Homes Of Dangerous Drugs

Sponsored by:

San Andreas, CA — Calaveras County residents will be able to “Drop the Drugs” so they can be disposed of safely.

With prescription drug abuse growing this event allows individuals to get rid of potentially dangerous, expired, unused, and unwanted drugs. Sheriff’s officials acknowledge typically these events are held on the weekends but in the summer many people are busy with family activities. So, to give citizens another opportunity to take advantage of the service, drop offs can be made after work hours on Wednesday, August 17 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The sheriff’s office provided these drop off locations:

  • American Legion Ambulance Post (across from Marval) 191 E. Hwy 12, Valley Springs
  • Calaveras County Office of Education 185 S Main Street, Angels Camp

Additionally, both the Sheriff’s Office and Angels Camp Police Department have secure boxes in their lobbies where drugs can be pitched during normal business hours.
