Caltrans Plans, Beginning Nov. 20
Sonora, CA — Though it is a short work-week Caltrans plans a sprinkling of cone zones across the Mother Lode highways.
In Calaveras County along Highway 4, expect ten-minute delays Monday and Tuesday between Cedar Lane/Meadow View Road and the Arnold Byway from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. during utility work. Similar waits are in store on Highway 49 on those same days between Mayo Road and Angels Creek as a crew works on the sidewalk there from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m.
In Tuolumne County along Highway 49, keep an eye out for tree workers Monday through Wednesday between the Mariposa/Tuolumne county line and Moccasin Creek from 8 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. although their work zone should not impact traffic.
On Highway 108 Monday through Wednesday a utility crew may create momentary traffic stalls between Sugar Pine and Chief Fuller roads from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
On Highway 120, crack seal pavement repairs planned Monday through Wednesday between White Gulch and Cherry Valley roads could delay travel for up to ten minutes from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. As reported here, 24/7 ten-minute waits remain at the Highway 120 James E Roberts Bridge for a few more weeks, as weather delays have pushed out plans to finish the final paving of the span, which will effectively complete the year-plus-long, nearly $21 million renovation. Caltrans officials say it is likely the bridge will fully re-open to traffic on or about Dec. 15.
A reminder, this coming Friday, Caltrans will close Highway 49 in downtown Sonora between Green and Cowan streets from 5:30 until 8 p.m. for the city’s 34th Annual Christmas Parade.
