Update: Thousands Lost Power From Sonora To Columbia
Update at 11:03 am: The remaining customers in Columbia have been restored.
Update at 10:36 am: PG&E reports that all but 337 customers have been restored from the earlier widespread outage. The remaining customers are in Columbia.
Original story posted at 9:51 am: Sonora, CA — 3,628 PG&E customers in Tuolumne County lost electricity at 9:28 am and PG&E is investigating the cause of the outage.
The company reports, “Our team is evaluating the electrical system to identify damaged sections and make necessary repairs in order to safely turn the power back on.”
The outage is impacting the greater downtown Sonora area and stretches over to Columbia, including Columbia State Park and the Columbia Airport.
PG&E is hoping for full restoration by 1:15 pm.
