Harris, a Democrat, announced this morning that she will run for President in 2020. Hoping to become the nation’s second African American President, Harris chose to announce her candidacy on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
The campaign released a video, in which she states, “Justice. Decency. Equality. Freedom. Democracy. These aren’t just words. They’re the values we as American cherish.”
Harris, 54, previously served as California’s Attorney General, and prior to that, was San Francisco’s District Attorney.
