City Takes Up Dragoon Gulch Master Plan

Sponsored by:

Sonora, CA — The Sonora City Council could make a final decision on whether to move ahead with the Dragoon Gulch Mater Plan at its Monday meeting. The plan calls for the expansion of the trail from 32 to 102 acres. The project is being funded by a $50,000 grant from the Tuolumne County Health Department from money it got thanks to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The 2.5 mile Dragoon Gulch Trail is just off of North Forest Road.

Also, the council will look at a proposal to buy property for the Mono Way widening project. (Click here for an earlier story updating that expansion project.)

In addition, a public hearing is scheduled for Monday’s meeting to discuss a zoning change to five properties on the block of Barretta and Shepard Streets south of Lyons Street. The property would go from Limited Multi-family Residential to Multi-family Residential.

The Council is holding a special meeting on Monday to discuss the fiscal year 2014 budget at 3pm. The City Council meeting starts at 5pm and both meetings will be in the City Hall Council chambers.
