First Week Of June Events
Summer officially begins June 21st but the weather and events are heating up this weekend.
Pinecrest Fish Faire is Saturday June 8th in the morning at Pinecrest Amphitheater. Kids under 16 enjoy free activities, contests, lunch, and entertainment are available for more information view the event listing here.
In Murphys, the 4th Annual Red Dress Party is held on Saturday at 6pm. It is a Benefit for Sierra HOPE and AIDS Awareness in the Mother Lode. More details are in the Fourth Annual Red Dress Party event listing.
The 4th annual John Muir Festival is all day at Coulterville Park. The ‘schootcher’ (Muir’s word for adventure) begins with attendees receiving a journal with which they can follow Muir’s principles of observation, appreciation and expression while visiting ten nature stations and activities including Nature Bingo, tree fairies and ice glaciers. Angels Camp Farmers Market open night is today at 5pm at Utica Park. Music, smoothies, Italian ice, fresh produce, baked goods, cold beer, BBQ brisket and pulled pork. Also don’t forget the Jamestown Antique Street Faire.
Several Roller Derby Tournaments this weekend and a championship game will feature teams from all over California at the High Country Sports Arena. Ticket prices and more information is available here.
On Sunday the Soap Box Derby Championship will be held a week ahead of the Lumber Jubilee. Children 7 to 17 will race gravity powered racers down Pine Street in Tuolumne, competing for the Northern California Championship title. Contact information is in the Soap Box Derby event listing.
